A guide to skiing in Spain.
(Yes, Spain!)

mountain top, covered in snow

I’ve been skiing 3 times in Spain. This a sentence I never thought I would say, but skiing turns out to be incredibly accessible in Spain. Affordable, easy to access and great food. Oh, and beer. Lots of beer!

In January 2021 my mate and I decided to go skiing for a week. We had talked about it annually since our last ski trip, some 5 years before (where we promised to go every year from then on).

Because I had spent quite a bit of time in Spain over the previous 18 months, we decided on Spain’s largest ski resort, Baqueira-Beret, in the Spanish Pyrenees. It had over a 150km’s of slopes and loads of blues, reds and a few blacks, so it was ideal.

Being only “a few hours” from the resort, I decided to rent a car and drive, collecting my friend in Barcelona on the way. It was 5 hours to Barca, then another 4 and a half to Baqueira-Beret. As I said, a few hours away. πŸ˜‚The roads in Spain are incredible
